This study aimed to present contributions so that the purchasing and contracting processes of IFG/Campus Formosa can be carried out democratically and effectively involve the academic community in its execution. The approach adopted was that of Bardin (2011), using content analysis to investigate the collected data. As a development of the research, the educational product, which consisted of a training workshop, was developed and applied. The training activity was conducted during the institutional event and included topics on biddings and contracts, as well as a brief conversation about Vocational and Technological Education and participatory management. The results suggest that the purchasing and contracting procedures at the IFG/Campus Formosa can be conducted collectively, and the principles of democratic management are applicable to them. However, this is always conducted while respecting each individual’s duties in the execution of their functions.
